Types of Services

(1) Individual Nutrition Consultation
Your weight, body composition and diet will be evaluated by a dietitian. Individualised tailor-made advice will then be given to help you achieve a desirable goal and optimal health status. Follow up consultations will be arranged to review and where necessary modify menu plans and discuss compliance difficulties.
The consultation will be provided to individuals who suffer from:
- Overweight or underweight problems
- Diabetes
- Renal disease
- Hypertension
- Cardiovascular disease
- Elevated blood lipid
- Gout
(2) Nutrition Therapy and Health Check Plans
Regular monitoring of health status is important for maintaining good health. This service provides both health check (assessed by a general practitioner) and nutrition assessment/consultation (conducted by a registered dietitian). Clients have the option of joining plans that include individualised nutrition advice at a lower rate. These are suitable for those who maybe overweight or are concerned about their health and lifestyle and would benefit from an assessment of their current health status and individualised dietary advice.
- Basic plan (nutrition assessment; standard health check; detailed medical report; GP consultation)
- General plan (basic plan + 4 sessions of individual nutrition consultations)
- Extended plan (basic plan + 8 sessions of individual nutrition consultations)
(3) Adult Weight Management Workshop
Dietitians will guide and counsel groups of individuals with weight management problems. This is a perfect opportunity for group interaction and support. It allows one to acquire better knowledge so that they can carry out appropriate dietary management with confidence.
This workshop is conducted by registered dietitian and qualified fitness professional.
5 sessions; from 7:15 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.; 1 session per week (4) Sport Nutrition Workshop
This workshop is designed for those who are active in sports and would like to improve their health and maximise their performance through good nutrition. Participants will be encouraged to examine their own diets and to identify possible areas of improvement.
This workshop is conducted by sport dietitian.
4 sessions; from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.; 1 session per week (5) Exercise and Nutrition Referral Scheme
The Scheme, jointly organised by the Institute of Human Performance, HKU and HKU SPACE Dietetic Clinic for Teaching and Research offer participants the opportunity to receive personalised counseling, assessment, exercise prescription and dietary advice.
This is a 12-week programme which includes 7 individual nutrition consultation sessions by qualified dietitians and 7 one-to-one personal training sessions with qualified exercise specialists (ACSM certified).
Fee: $4,800 * Discount is offered to HKU SPACE/HKU staff and students (with valid student card) and HKU SPACE ALUMNI members.
