The development of the logistics and transport industries is becoming vital to the Hong Kong economy. As training and education are important elements to support continuous development in the field, the Logistics and Transport Professional Development Centre in HKU SPACE was established to contribute and promote human resources development for the logistics and transport industries in Hong Kong. The aims of the Centre are to develop close link between the industries and the School and to provide training and support to professionals in the field.
Objectives
- Promote logistics and transport programmes to the community;
- promote human resource development in connection with the industries;
- provide a focal point for professional exchange of views and opinions on logistics and transport development in Hong Kong;
- develop linkage and partnership with professional bodies in logistics and transport sectors.
Activities
- organise conferences, seminars and forums for professional exchange in the industries;
- conduct workshops and executive programmes for professionals in the logistics and transport sectors;
- organise local/overseas visits and field trips with professional bodies;
- provide advisory/consultancy services to the industries;
- seek scholarship/awards from the industries and organise award competition for studies;
- conduct promotional activities for logistics and transport programmes.
